Publish your storefront for the first time

Pick a storefront URL and take your store live.

Before your customers can see your store, you need to publish it. The first time you publish, you will also pick the Minicart subdomain where your store lives.

Ask Sloane

Tell Sloane "I'm ready to publish" or "take my store live". Sloane will walk you through the steps and flag anything missing.

Pick your storefront URL

During your first publish, you will choose the subdomain your store lives at: yourstore.minicart.com. Pick something short and close to your brand. You can connect your own custom domain later. See Connect a custom domain.

What to check before going live

  • At least one public product with an image and description

  • Your logo and brand colors look right

  • An About Us page or contact info if you want one

  • Payments are set up so customers can check out. See Set up payments for your store.

Publish

Hit Publish. Minicart runs a build and your store goes live in under a minute. You will see a confirmation with your live URL.

What publishing affects

Publishing is how you apply storefront-level changes that affect the overall look and identity of your store. These changes stay in preview until you publish, so you can experiment without affecting what your customers see.

Needs a publish to go live

  • Store name and description

  • Theme and colors

  • Logo and banner

  • Navigation menus

  • Sharing and SEO descriptions

  • Minicart subdomain changes

Goes live the moment you save

  • Products

  • Collections

  • Pages

  • Store policies

  • Discounts

Day to day content updates do not need a publish. Add a new product, update a price, publish a new About Us page, tweak your return policy, launch a discount, and it is live on your store right away.

Republishing

You can publish as often as you want. Sloane will let you know when there are unpublished changes worth pushing live.
