Before you can take orders, you need to set up payments. Payment processing on Minicart is handled by Stripe, our payments partner. You will complete a short onboarding to get approved.
US only for now. Payments on Minicart are currently available to stores based in the United States. We are working on expanding to more countries soon.
Start setup
Ask Sloane: "set up payments for my store". Or start from Settings > Payment processing in the left sidebar. Sloane will walk you through the steps. As you fill out the payments form, Minicart suggests a good fit for the Industry field so you are not left guessing.
What you will need
Payment onboarding asks for the details needed to verify who you are and to meet financial regulations:
Your legal name
Company information if you are not a sole proprietor
Your address
A phone number
A tax ID (SSN or EIN)
Identity verification (a photo ID, in some cases)
The bank account you get paid into is added separately, under Settings > Payouts.
Start selling right away
You can open your store and start taking orders as soon as you finish onboarding. Your customers can buy from you right away. Your very first payout can take a little longer while we verify your details. After that, you get access to the proceeds from a sale 1 to 3 business days after it is placed. See How payouts work for the details.
Sloane takes it from here
Once payments are set up, Sloane watches your payments and payouts. She flags anything unusual, like a failed payout or a dispute opened by a customer.
