Setting up payments asks for personal details like your legal name, your address and your tax ID. The natural next question is whether the people buying from you will see any of it.
Short answer: no. Your customers see your store name and your support email. That is it. The one place your own details can reach a customer is a shipping label. You control what goes on it.
What your customers actually see
On your storefront and in every email Minicart sends them:
Your store name
Your support email, not your signup email
Your store policies
Your About Us page
Anything else you write yourself
Your social links, if you added any
Your support email is never the email you signed up with. Minicart creates a separate address for your store, something like [email protected]. That is the address your customers see. Anything they send to it lands in your support tickets where Logan picks it up. Your replies go back out under your store name, so your own inbox stays out of it. If you connect a custom domain you can use an address on that domain instead, like [email protected]. See Connect a custom domain if you want support mail on your own domain.
On their card statement, customers see a short descriptor built from your Minicart domain, so a store at candlesbykay.minicart.com shows as MINI CANDLESBYKAY.
Your legal name, your home address, your phone number, your date of birth, your tax ID and your bank details are never shown to a customer, never included in an order confirmation and never returned by your storefront.
Shipping labels are the one exception
A shipping label is physical mail. Whatever sender details and ship-from address are on it arrive at your customer's door with the package. This is the only way your own information reaches a customer.
When you save your business address on Settings > Business info in the left sidebar, Minicart copies it into your shipping origin so you can quote rates and buy labels straight away. Convenient, but if you run your store from home, that means your home address is the default return address on every package.
Ask Logan "change my ship-from address" and he will walk you through it. There are 2 things to set, both in Orders > Shipping/Pickup setup:
Sender details, the company, contact name, phone and email carriers use. There is a Same as business info switch here. Turn it off to enter something different.
Ship-from address, where packages ship from. Used on labels and to calculate rates.
Set these to whatever you are comfortable having a customer read. Once you save your own sender details and ship-from address, they stay put. Updating your business info later will not overwrite them. Many creators use a PO box or a mailbox service address as their ship-from and their store name as the sender company, which keeps their home address and legal name off the package entirely.
There are 2 more things worth knowing. Carriers need a real deliverable address to calculate rates and to return undeliverable packages, so a ship-from address is required once shipping is turned on. If you also offer local pickup, your pickup address is shown to customers at checkout by design, since they need to know where to collect their order. Your pickup address is separate from your ship-from address, so you can set them independently.
Selling digital products only
If you only sell digital products there are no labels, so nothing of yours reaches your customers beyond your store name and your support email. See Sell digital products for how delivery works.
