Not everything you sell needs to be boxed up and mailed. You can sell digital products such as downloadable art, photos, printables or patterns. Minicart handles digital delivery for you. Sloane is the one to set this up.

Tell Sloane something like "make my Sunflower Print a digital product". She will turn on the digital option for that product and confirm the change before saving. You can also open it yourself from Sloane > Shortcuts > Products > Edit product, then turn on Digital product.

For a digital product you can fill in Digital delivery instructions, like a download link, a license key or steps to access the file. These are emailed to your customer when you mark the order fulfilled. You can edit them any time before you fulfill the order, so it is fine to add them later.

Digital products are set to a digital tax code automatically, which is tax free in most states. You do not need to do anything for this to work.

You can sell both digital and physical products in one store. The only rule is that a single order has to be all digital or all physical. If a customer tries to add both to one cart, they will see a note that a cart can hold only one type at a time and be asked to clear their cart before adding the other.

When a digital order comes in, you fulfill it from the order the same way you would any other. Instead of buying a shipping label, you send the download link or instructions you set up. See Add your first product to review product basics.
