Track inventory and stock

Keep stock counts accurate and never oversell.

Logan is your logistics teammate and is the one to talk to for anything stock related.

Tracking is optional

By default, every product is set to unlimited stock and always orderable. This is a good fit for digital items, made-to-order pieces or anything where you do not want to think about counts. If you want Minicart to track stock for a product, just ask Logan to turn on tracking for it. You can also open it from Products > Inventory in the left sidebar.

Set stock levels

Once tracking is on, tell Logan what you have (e.g. "set stock on Amber Candle small to 12"). Or set counts from Products > Inventory. If a product has no variants, stock lives on the product itself.

Bulk updates are a conversation too. Try "I've made 5 new blue butterfly bracelets and 12 ruby necklaces" and Logan will show you exactly which products and variants he is about to update and wait for your confirmation.

Out of stock behavior

When tracking is on and stock hits zero, that variant shows as Sold out on your storefront and customers cannot add it to their cart. If you would rather keep selling past zero, ask Logan to allow backorders. The variant then shows a Backordered badge and customers can still buy it.

Low stock nudges

Logan watches your catalog and lets you know when a variant is running low. You set a low stock threshold, so a variant is flagged as Low stock once it drops to the number you choose. You can ignore a nudge, mark it as restocked or ask Logan about it.

Manual adjustments

If you find a mismatch between your portal count and physical count, tell Logan the real number. Or correct a count from Products > Inventory. He logs the change so you can track it later.
